1. Parent College Boot Camps via Zoom

NEXT SESSION BEGINS Spring, 2025!

Boot Camps are for parents of Sophomores or Juniors who are just getting started and looking for an overview of the college application process. Bootcamps will also help parents who feel overwhelmed by the process, and provide a supportive forum each week for parents to discuss relevant topics of interest and share concerns. Each session will provide parents with a reading list and other hand outs that will help them support their student's application process.

These are small groups -- no more than 5 parents in each Bootcamp -- who will meet via Zoom once a week for 3 weeks to discuss topics such as:

-
Putting together a great college list and choosing the right college

-
Avoiding the tyranny of the ranking system

-
The importance of internships and how to find them

-
How the financial aid process works

-
How your student can find scholarships and best position themselves for merit aid

A fourth meeting is a private advising session for each participant and their student. These sessions will be via Zoom and scheduled separately to accommodate parent and student schedules.

Price: $300

Eileen Kropf - A Global Perspective on College Advising
Having managed the College and Career Center at one of the nation's top STEM high schools, worked in US Embassies overseas as a Foreign Service Officer, and directed study abroad programs, I bring a unique set of skills and experience to advising high school students embarking on the college journey.
I work with students individually to help them identify their passions and talents, and find a college that gives them the best possible launch into adulthood. I do this through one-on-one advising sessions with students, as individual meetings or as part of a package that spans the Junior and/or Senior Years.
I also work with parents to help them understand the many choices out there and how they can help their student navigate the college application process. I do this through individual sessions with parents as needed, as well as through 4-week long parent "Boot Camps."
